According to AyurVeda each human being has an unique body constitution characterized varying combinations of the 3 doshas; Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The basic belief of Ayurveda is that their careful balance is essential to good health and that the whole body – physcially, mentally and spiritually should be in harmony to restore and maintain health and longevity.
Abyangham Massage
Abhyangam is the Sanskrit word for oil massage following Ayurvedic principles. It is prescribed as a daily routine in the ancient Ayurvedic texts and involves applying vegetable oils infused with herbal preparations on the body or particular parts of the body in a specific style to obtain the desired results. In Ayurveda, the Abhyangam massage has become popular because of its effective way of conditioning the body. Abhyangam can also be used therapeutically. The massage and oils used during it are designed around each individual according to their Dosha or body constitution.
